Merrymeeting Food Council welcomes farmers, farm laborers, and service providers to join a roundtable event Monday, Dec. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Merrymeeting Hall in Bowdoinham (33 Main St.). The aim of the event is to discuss farm labor models, share resources, and build a network focused on short- and long-term solutions to recent labor shortages.
Planning partners for the event include area farmers and representatives of
Bowdoinham Community Development Initiative; Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust;
Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry; Maine Department of Labor;
Land for Good; Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association; University of
Maine Cooperative Extension; Merrymeeting Food Council and others.
Anyone interested in the topic is welcome to attend. The event is free and open to the
public, but registration is required.
